The Topinabee Community Church is an inter-denominational church that has served the Topinabee area in Northern Michigan for over 100 years. We are open to all that wish to participate in a Christian experience. The Church is active in the community with the aim of serving others.

A Very Short History of the Topinabee Community Church
In 1916, the residents of Topinabee, Michigan expressed a desire for a Methodist Episcopal congregation to serve their community. The following year, in 1917, a Methodist Episcopal Church was established on a hill overlooking Mullett Lake, at the fork of Topinabee Mail Route Road and East Numbers Road.
For decades, the church faithfully served the Topinabee area as a place of worship, fellowship, and community gatherings. Several pastors ministered there over the years, often while also serving in other congregations throughout the region.
By 1953, under the leadership of Rev. Guy W. Trower, the congregation sensed a growing call toward unity and a broader Christian witness. In that spirit, they discerned the need to become a church open to the wider Christian community of Northern Michigan.
Later that year, the congregation incorporated as an interdenominational Community Church, welcoming Christians from all traditions. Organized as Topinabee Community Church, it brought together members from various denominational backgrounds, all worshipping and serving the Lord Jesus Christ in one fellowship.
Throughout its history, the church has also served as a gathering place for community events, seasonal celebrations, and acts of service that strengthen the bonds of the Topinabee area. Its worship life reflects a blend of Christian traditions, honoring both historic practices and contemporary expressions of faith.
Over the years, many pastors from various Christian traditions have faithfully served in the pulpit of Topinabee Community Church, enriching its ministry with their diverse backgrounds and gifts. Our current pastor, Rev. Todd Crouch, who comes from an evangelical tradition, began his ministry with the congregation in October 2022.
As the congregation grew and its ministry expanded, numerous modifications and improvements were made to the church building and sanctuary. These updates were undertaken to accommodate the needs of the church family and to provide an even richer and more welcoming worship experience for all who gather there.
Topinabee Community Church continues its ministry as an interdenominational community church, faithfully serving the Northern Michigan region as a place of worship, fellowship, and service. Today, the congregation remains committed to proclaiming Christ, nurturing discipleship, and serving the needs of Northern Michigan and beyond with compassion and hope.
The church is also an active part of the Northern Michigan Ministerial Association and works alongside other churches to share the love of God with people throughout the region and beyond.
